    Bought an EV in June and went back and forth about home charging vs public charging. The public charging infrastructure isn’t there yet in my area so after research and reading reviews for 2 weeks I landed on this charger. Had it hardwired by an electrician on a 60 amp breaker. It’s flawless. Plug in my car and off she goes. Suspends charging when the vehicle reaches target. Notifications in the app for everything. Bluetooth range is pretty limited but not a big deal for me. It is connected to our WiFi and connection was easy too. Would recommend.

    This Autel Home Level 2 EV changer is a nice unit, Have a professional electrician do the installation for you. The electrical installer thought it was a nice to have a rotary switch to set the max current. Rather than under software control. The charger was placed in the garage. When the unit is not charging and on you see two green lights. The first light is tell you the unit is on , the second light that your are connected to your wifi network. And the third light will be green when your are charging , and will turn blue when the EV car stops charging . The App how every new some work , In the setup it ask you what to donate. The app it self has a lot of features . I had to repeat the wifi connection two times. And the unit use the 2.4ghz band on your router. In the App I have selected “Auto start”. The unit has a NEMA-4 Enclose and can be set to 50 amp charging ,but your Ev might not be able to take that 50 amp charge, So please check you EV spec. Your Electrical service has to be able to supply the current. And a professional electrician will tell you if what you want can be done with your electrical pannel.
    For my set up I did not have to put in a sub panel. My installation very easy. The uint was hardware into my electrical panel. The professional electrician told that a “hardwire” Or a direct connection is the best way to install the Home charger. And take note there is a big difference in 6 gauge stranded electrical wire vs 6 gauge copper wire. Also according to a YouTube ,State of Charge , this unit will resume the charging the EV when to power goes out and then comes back on. I have not tested this feature. Overall all I please with the uint.
    For me the Autel Home Level 2 EV changer is 5 stars.

    I read all of the reviews both good and bad before ordering this, it's seems like even the models from well known EVSE makers have negative reviews! I decided to order this mainly because it was on the list of eligible EVSE/s for a rebate from my power company and the price was good and I ended up getting it on sale. (I didn't get the rebate, but that's another story!). The unit arrived quickly and was very well packed. The mounting bracket couldn't have been easier to install and the unit slips right on and is held with a set screw. This unit is very well made. I have had a clipper creek 20 amp EVSE for about 10 years and this is a much better build quality. The only things keeping it from getting a 5 star review is that the little door inside (after you remove the cover) is pretty small for making the wire connections and there isn't room on top to store the cable when not in use. Maybe it's my old arthritic hands, but getting #6 wire in there was not as easy as it should have been if the door had been larger. Speaking of wire, my remodel box was installed by a licensed electrician for my 20 amp Clipper Creek and he said "I ran #8 wire just in case you later want to put in 50 amp service for something like a welder. I had another electrician say #8 is fine for 50 amps because it's such a short run. Well, I originally wired the Autel to the #8 wire with a 60 amp breaker. I charged the car and within just a few minutes everything was getting hot. A few more minutes and the breaker tripped. The next morning I called tech support. After I explained what happened, the first thing he asked me was what size wire I was using. He said this EVSE needs #6 wire. So I changed the wire and this time, no connection in the wall box, just direct run from the breaker to the Autel. Now I can charge at full power and things get warm, but not hot. If you install this do not use wire nuts for any splices, use a clamp and make sure you are using #6 copper wire.
    I didn't think that I would use the wireless connection, but the app works great and it was simple to connect this to my home wifi network. This Autel is great so far, well built and super easy to set up and use. Others have mentioned about the cable being stiff, and it is, but it is a really thick cable. I bought a wall mount to store the cable.

    This works great, and I love being able to charge from the convenience of my home. I actually have a second one that will be installed at our other place soon, so I won’t have to worry about charging between here and there. I also Airbnb that house, so I’m excited about offering this amenity since chargers are rare out there. I love that I’ll be able to turn it on from my phone when guests need it, preventing anyone from taking advantage of my electricity without permission. Alternatively, I could leave the card in the home for them as well.
    My husband and his friend, who is an engineer, installed it, so it didn’t cost me anything, but it might cost you a good bit. This is true no matter which brand you purchase.
    One improvement I’d like to see is the ability to add the device to Apple Wallet to tap to activate.

    Produit de très bonne qualité avec un beau look. On peut ficher le câble d’alimentation par l’arrière si installé au mur. Application facile à utiliser et à configurer. Donne l’ampérage et le kw/h tel qu’indiqué.

    Cependant, aucun support technique en français, mais une équipe dévouée à résoudre les problèmes.

    Très abordable pour une 50A, surtout avec les offres fréquentes à 599$.

    After about 8 months of trying to problem solve for issues related to the charger not functioning properly, I have tried without success to get my money back and send the charger back. I was first told it was a problem with my router extender but getting a new router didn't help. In fact, you should not buy a charger that is completely dependent on the internet and blue tooth. I was told I had to lower the Amp to get it to work properly. That didn't help. The charge suspends after a few minutes or after an hour or it just suspends but the application will frequently show it is charging so when you go check, you see it is not charging. Don't buy a charger that only works through the internet!! Don't buy from Autel as they don't take responsibility for the quality and functionality of their chargers!
