Seguma 32 Amp Level 2 EV Home Charger: Fast, Smart, and Reliable

There's a discrepancy between the claimed capabilities of this charger and the actual capabilities. Even the manual doesn't align with the actual functionality; the rates available on the charger and the rates in the manual and on the product listing are different. Using this as a level 1 charger, I can't get it to charge at a higher rate than 12W. Other chargers I've tried can charge at 16W or 20W. This difference in power output leads to a drastic difference in charge speed.

This unit affordably got me charging my EV while I waited for my electrician to work me into his busy schedule. Also it will allow me to use an RV pedestal/service box with plugs for my EV, my RV, and a 120V convenience outlet when my electrician is available to install that service.

A 5' length of 2-2-2-4 cable, a 50A circuit breaker, and a 240V outlet from the orange store got my EV going. DO NOT TRY THIS WITHOUT DETAILED ELECTRICITY UNDERSTANDING AND THE NECESSARY TOOLS - - 240V CAN KILL YOU!

However, your electrician can get you set up quickly this way until they can do the permanent installation up-to-code.

The real-time information on the display is useful (it showed me that there is more variation in the service voltage than I expected) and you can adjust the current/rate of charge by simply pressing the single button on startup of charging.

I'm thoroughly impressed by this charger and very satisfied with it. It is supposed to be weatherproof but I haven't tested that yet.

I have used the charger 4 times now and have had zero problems. You may need to check if your home can handle the electrical drawl of an EV. I had an electrician come and check mine. Portability couldn’t be better. The length is wonderful for those times you need to stretch a tad further. Excellent value for your money!

Great portable charger for the car, tested on 2 different EV's and it pulled a charge just fine from a home outlet (dedicated home 240 install, swapped OEM cable for this one as a test - worked perfectly)

Comes in a carry bag and has the screws and holder adapter if you wish to attach this to a wall. But really - the point is to have a carry super cable with you and this does the trick!

Great Level 2 wall/portable charger to keep at home, this brand works slightly better than the Tesla portable charger with the NEMA 14-50 connection cable- you will get at least 3 to 5 more miles an hour to the charge, a small plus but every little bit adds up with EV’s! Tesla owners will need to purchase the J1772 to Tesla adapter separately, does Not come with this charger.

Charger is working great. Charging 5x to 6z faster than 120v.

My only issues were with the hardware (screws) broke and stripped when trying to screw into wall studs. Had to use tradition deck screws.
