About every 3rd time I use it, it ends up dumping dirty water on my floors toward the end of the session of use. I should have returned it but at first thought it was user error and that I would figure it out. Now 6 months in I still have the issue. Definitely a huge waste of money.

I purchased this because I'm lazy. I can't be bothered to sweep and then mop. I've used this once and damn I knew my floor were dirty but, not that dirty. I live in a fairly small home with tile throughout. One tank was more than enough for the entire house. I went over the house three times and still had leftover water. Took me about an hour or so. I have a few rugs and furniture I needed to move out of the way. I like how the floors dry really fast with this machine. Should note that it is quite loud. Cleaning it afterwards was easy, but tedious. Remember I'm lazy. Overall for a lazy girl like me it wasn't too much trouble. Would def recommend!

Pic 1 was the entire house. Pic 2 was my bathroom. 🤢🤮

Recently, I just moved to Philly. City living means tracking in crud from outside, so having a good way to keep your floors clean is a must! I brought with me a Swiffer WetJet, and that worked for only quick little one overs. Actual cleaning though? No. Wasn't going to cut it.

Despite how much I swept and mopped, there was always crud left on the floor. There's nothing more wildly frustrating than finishing cleaning your floor for a second time and then stepping on crumbs. Nightmare.

Finally bit the bullet and got this and oh my God. In the time it would take me to sweep this carpet-less house, it's vacuumed and mopped. The floors are clean, they're shiny even! This saves me so much time and energy!!

While I would say for really caked on mud or something, you may still need to spot scrub places, but for an every day tool? Look no further!

The vacuum/kipper is easy to put together with common sense. It comes with full instructions as well as a cheat sheet with basic rules on the handle. I do think it calls for a lot more cleaning solution than I deem necessary, but that’s an easy fix!
The vacuum is very easy to use and works well as vacuuming plus mopping my floors. However, it does much better at maintaining already clean floors than mopping up very dirty floors. So I usually mop 1-3 times a week and use this machine on in between days! We do have a lot of foot track though.
I am EXTREMELY satisfied and happy with this Bissel!

I really appreciate how this device scrubs and cleans. My great room was a nightmare after a very rainy and muddy Mich6 winter. My dogs destroyed my favorite space...so I thought. This did an amazing job! The only reason I gave 4 stars is because it only came with a cleaning brush for one type of floor and the capacity for both clean/detergent and dirty water is SMALL. My sunroom is huge, so that may not impact the majority, but certainly wanted to share. Overall I am very satisfied and grateful the puppy mud has been cleaned up!

I have a toddler and 2 great danes and some cats. So I will start by saying this is definitely not a vacuum substitute. It gets clogged fairly easily and I have to clean the hair that accumulates out of various places. So that portion, due to the price, is a huge bummer.

The mop feature is pretty good. It easily cleans water drips or paw prints off my tile and hardwood floor. The plus side is, instead of pushing dirty water around with a mop, you are using clean water. The smell of the solution is pleasant and the floors look and smell clean after. Which is not always the case with a mop. Only downside is, if you have a large surface area, I recommend having 1 or 2 extra roller heads on hand to swap out. As the rollers themselves start to smell after about 20 mins or so. Other than that the mop feature is great.

The biggest con is my machine will randomly get louder (it is fairly loud to begin with) and sounds like it is experiencing a loss of suction. Not sure what this is about and still investigating if it is something that impacts the functionality of the machine.

It was between this and the Tineco smart floor cleaner, but I needed a corded option due to battery run time not being sufficient on the cordless options. Not sure if I'd repurchase this or not to be honest.

I did a lot of research on the best, wet, dry, vacuum mop, and the Bissell was the best that I read up on. I saw the other reviews below and decided to take my shot. I saw some reviews about it leaving streaks that part didn’t matter to me because you would sometimes see my footprint anyways.

This Bissell worked amazingly I did not realize my floors were that dirty. It was louder than expected. The cord is fairly long. It came with 2 filters, 2 Brussels things. And 1 cleaning solutions. Cleaning was very easy. It did great on my tile floor as well.

Only thing I didn’t like. Is it doesn’t get close to the wall. There is maybe 1/2 inch that it doesn’t touch, no matter what direction you mop in.

I was a little skeptical about this. I love my current canister vacuum and feel it does a pretty good job with getting everything up. I was so wrong!!!! I did my usual vacuum with my canister vacuum and then put this mop/vacuum to the test.

It was quick and easy to assemble out of the box. Directions are very clear and easy to understand. I filled the water reservoir to the large are line and added the included solution. (You will probably only get a few uses out of the included solution. I made my own natural one with a few drops of essential oils.)

I plugged this in and went to work on my floors. I wasn’t t really expecting it to vacuum up that much as I had all ready done my normal vacuum with my canister vacuum. I was shocked and disgusted by how much filth was in the canister after I was done. I clean my floors weekly, and we do have a large family with no pets and do not wear shoes inside. The water was nasty dirty! I will definitely be double vacuuming and then using the mop feature on here on my floors. I wouldn’t recommend the vacuum on here for regular vacuum job but I think it’s great for getting the rest up off your floors after a pre-vacuum or mop.

The mop works well and you can adjust how wet your floors get by using hard wood setting or carpet setting. By squeezing the trigger you control the flow of water. When you go back over the spot you suck back up the dirty water and filth.

Pros
Gets your floors super clean
Easy to disassemble and clean
Has a self clean mode for the mop head
Actually does mop your floors (you may have to go over a super dirty spot a few times)

Cons
A little heavy to push around but no heavier than a standard vacuum
It’s really loud!
The cord is easy to suck up. (Yep my kid did that and chewed off part of the coating all ready!)
Takes longer to clean up afterwards than a traditional mop.

Overall, worth all the cons and more. Love it and how it feels like my floors are extra clean now!

VERY GOOD

I've been putting this vacuum through its paces, and I have to say, it works very well. It lives up to its promises, with some seriously good suction power that does a really good job picking up dirt and cleaning my tile floors. Compared to my cordless vacuum, it's a definite upgrade, and the “mopping” aspect of it is way better than my Swiffer WetJet.

Also, I really like the swivel head. It makes vacuuming around corners so much easier. Additionally, the powerful suction pulls dirt and dust out of the crevices and along the bottom of the baseboards so I don’t have to follow up with a vacuum hose.

It was very easy to assemble straight out of the box. The long power cord means I won’t ever need to use an extension cord.

NOT SO GOOD

According to the manual, this Bissell CrossWave wet-dry vacuum needs thorough cleaning after every use, which sounds simple enough until you realize just how much cleaning is involved. You have to empty and wash out the dirty water reservoir, remove and clean the roller, and clean the air filter. Then you have to wait about 24 hours for the air filter to dry before you can use it again. So if you just want to clean up a small area on the floor, you will spend 2 minutes cleaning the floor and 10 minutes doing the cleaning maintenance routine on the vacuum cleaner.

The instructions say to mix the cleaning solution with warm water. That is straightforward, but it gets tricky when there's leftover solution in the container. You have to guess how much more water and solution you need for next time. Also, since the instructions say to use warm water, the leftover solution might not be as effective when it cools down. What should I do with the leftover solution? I don’t know.

THE BAD

It's just way too loud. So much noise that it's uncomfortable to use. This vacuum cleaner is way louder than my cordless vacuum and even louder than my shop vac. Our cats hide under the bed in the upstairs bedroom when it’s being used in the kitchen, one floor below. They don’t do that when I use my cordless vac and not even when I use my shop vac.

This wet-dry vacuum cannot be used as a basic vacuum cleaner. It is not designed for dry vacuuming alone. The instructions say that you must always use the wet solution when in use. So, if you spill a cup of flour on the floor, you cannot just vacuum it up. You have to wet it also. In other words, it's wet and dry together. You cannot use one without the other.

OVERALL

This Bissell CrossWave vacuum cleaner does have its usefulness, but it probably cannot be your only vacuum cleaner given all of its limitations.

I've been using this daily machine for 3 years now, not the same machine however. I'm on my 4th machine in 3 years, but I use this DAILY for commercial use at our small cafe. I've replaced the foot once myself, but then the suction from the motor finally kicked the bucket after about 2 years.
Bottom line is, it's a huge time saver not having to sweep or vacuum AND mop. It does a good job at both vacuuming and mopping, but you need to go slow and go over the area a few times to really polish the floor and get all the water up to not leave streaks. I love that this works on carpet too, but I would definitely do your carpets first with a clean roller before you do hard floors, otherwise you risk leaving dirty streaks on a light colored carpet that probably won't come out easily. I have dark carpets in the cafe with low pile, so it works for us. We love in Upstate NY, so the salt and dirt and puddles that accumulate under the tables and get tracked in on the carpets is no joke! This machine leaves them sparkling clean at the end of every day!
I clean the whole thing out by hand, even the rollers, and I run water through the hose to the foot to get out any clogs and dirt. I highly recommend hand cleaning everything to keep it running good and clean smelling.
The only con is that like all these machines, they are not made for daily use, and heavy dirt and use will wear out all the cheap plastic parts. You can replace the parts that break individually, but I just wish they were better made. The little rollers underneath and the squeegee flap wear out first, and the machine starts to make direct contact with the floor--you'll notice the machine gets harder to push on carpet as it sucks to hard to the floor. I actually injured my shoulder trying to push it!
I wish there was a commercial version that was built to last. But I assume that if you used this once a week it would probably last you years. Mine last about 6 months, used for an hour 5 days a week, 48ish weeks of the year.

First picture is the before and the second is after cleaning.

I have been wanting a wet-dry vacuum to go over our carpet. We have a small portable wet-dry vacuum, but it doesn't work well with larger areas. This vacuum is a good value. It works well. It will save you on paying a professional. You can clean at your leisure. These are all reasons why I wanted to have my wet-dry vacuum. I was tired of paying a professional or renting one from the store and being bound by a timeframe.

I have tested the vacuum on all of our area rugs. They definitely look cleaner. After drying though, the rugs felt stiff. I figured that this was from leftover soap in the carpet. I ordered a second roller and second water tank. I use hot water and soap for the first round and a pet brush/roller. It does a good job cleaning the rug. I then use a regular brush/roller and the second container filled with hot water to rinse the rug. Make sure that you vacuum up the water well and take your time going over the area after soaping and rinsing. Make sure not to leave the damp area rug on laminate or wood flooring because this can cause water damage. When the dirty container is full you will know it because the vacuum sounds different and the suction is diminished.

I did have some trouble getting the cover off to remove the brush/roller. Be careful. I accidentally snapped one of the clips. It still stays on without any problem, but you can buy replacements online. I had no problem finding name-brand or off-brand replacement brushes and air filters.

I didn't notice any weird smells and I left the wet roller in the vacuum for over a week. If whatever you vacuum up has a smell, then I suspect that there will be a smell on the roller. We were just using the machine for a regular cleaning.

Recommended.
