try hours figure it out to active 1st time. here is some tips:
1. you have use 2.4GHZ wifi, NOT 5GHZ.
2. first time active, if you use iphone. turn off mobile data. use only wifi to active. other wise Q7 Max+ cannot connect to wifi. (it would try to connect to the mobile 4g/5g network while doing the setup, so I had to turn mobile data off so that it could connect properly.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Robot Vacuum - wins over iRobot and Shark hands down!

Let's face it, vacuuming sucks. It's tedious, it's loud, and frankly, robots were supposed to be doing this by now. Well, good news, my fellow dust bunnies: the Roborock Q7 Max+ is here to dethrone you from your chore throne.

This little black (or white, if you're boring) machine is like a Roomba on steroids. It sucks up dirt, pet hair, and whatever mysterious crumbs your family leaves behind with the gusto of a toddler with a chocolate fountain. And the best part? It empties itself into a giant dustbin in the dock, so you can basically forget about vacuuming for weeks. WEEKS, PEOPLE!

Pros:

Suction power of a small hurricane: This thing could inhale a Lego and ask for seconds. Say goodbye to dust bunnies, fur tumbleweeds, and anything else your carpets dared to hoard.
Auto-empty dock: Imagine a world where you don't have to fish out rogue Cheerios from your robot vacuum. This is that world. The dock stores up to 7 weeks of debris, so you can relax and let the robot do its dirty work (literally).
Smart enough to avoid your furniture: Sure, it might get a little confused by that precariously placed shoebox, but for the most part, the Q7 Max+ navigates your home like a seasoned spelunker. No more tangled messes or rogue collisions.
App control: You can become a cleaning mastermind from the comfort of your couch. Tell the robot where to go, set no-go zones (RIP, area rug), and even schedule cleanings. Basically, you become the robot overlord, but without the whole "enslave humanity" thing.
Cons:

A little on the pricey side: Look, this little dude isn't exactly a budget buy. But think of it as an investment in your sanity (and clean floors).
Might scare small pets: The first time this thing rumbles by, your hamster might have a minor existential crisis. Just be sure to supervise furry friends during cleaning sessions.
Not the quietest: It's not a jet engine, but it won't win any awards for silent operation. Just pop in some headphones and jam out while your robot cleans up.
Overall:

The Roborock Q7 Max+ is a fantastic robot vacuum that will leave your floors sparkling and your free time, well, free. Sure, it might cost a bit upfront, but the convenience and time-saving factor are worth every penny. Just be prepared to answer questions from your neighbors about your new robot overlord (but hey, at least your floors will be clean).

I'm a lazy girl but the one thing I never skimp on in my apartment is the floors. Clean floors are sooo essential to my happen and focus since I work from home. This little robot!! Let me tell you something - magical. It's amazing. I feel like my whole apartment is on auto pilot now between this thing and my dishwasher. I have a 2 floor townhouse, and I only use this robot downstairs. Mainly because that's where the cats hangout and boy do they shed hair. But also because I'm slightly terrified of one of my cats pushing this robot down the stairs haha. Anyways it's fantastic, the battery life is well over powered for my first floor. The cleaning cycle is fast (40 minutes roughly). As well as hardly ever getting caught or stuck. The only 2 times it has in the 2 months I've been running it daily is when I moved furniture and it didn't have a new map - so it thought it could still go those places. Otherwise 10/10 absolutely recommend for anyone as this 2 in 1 mop and vaccum has my whole heart now. And my thanks lmao.

I purchased this based on a recommendation from my daughter & son-in-law (they have no rugs & just hardwood floor throughout) to help ease my every other day vacuuming. I pugged it in and followed instructions. After the "Mapping the house" completed, I found it does not really "map" the house after I began to run it and keeps getting stuck & I have to move it constantly. I found that if I pull up all of my rugs except large (8x10) area ones, dining table chairs, and trash cans, dog bowl then it kind of runs smoothly. It never vacuums up all of the dog hair on the rugs period. This vacuum is perfect for hardwood, laminate, tile type floors with no rugs or small items including chair legs to get in it's way. I will say the mopping does really well if you can use a barricade to confine it to a certain area to keep it going that's clear back & forth. I checked the self-cleaning it's suppose to do and the dog hair does not go well into the main canister bag that they say it does & I had to clean the vacuum part by hand over a trash can and it only had minimal hair but kept getting stuck right at the suction spot of the canister. It's too expensive to have these types of issues so I will continue to remove everything as stated above & use it, but I would not consider getting another one of it's type & just vacuum with my rainbow vacuum that works great manually on all flooring as I have time as I like a dog hair-free floor.

I have two Labrador retrievers and the shedding was driving me crazy. I would come home from work see fur all over the floor & immediately feel stressed out. After talking with friends who love their robot vacuum i decided to give it a try. Im so upset i didn’t buy this sooner! I come home to clean floors everyday! I have it set to run at 9am & 4p
And the mopping feature is magical. Dogs dont give the robot much attention. The only thing for me to figure out is possibly building a small ramp because i have a 1 step down living room. I absolutely love this thing! I think when you get a lab puppy, it should automatically come with one of these vacuums!

Recently bought Roborock Q7 max+ and I am super happy with it.
Right from the very beginning, it mapped out my apartment well. It does a great job at mapping and while cleaning knowing what area it as already cleaned. I can select full cleaning, room cleaning or mark a zone to be specially cleaned. It also lets you pin it at any point and clean that specific point on the map. This came in handy when I spilled some left over coffee beans and had to clean a specific spot in the kitchen. Moreover, you can even control it with app using a joystick and move it around like you want.

The suction power is great and the mop functionality works decent for my hard wood floors. It has a much bigger water and dust tank compared to my Roomba j5+, so doesn't need to be refilled/emptied as often. A big plus is that the app lets you control the suction power for vacuum and water flow for mopping for each run, if needed.

Only downside so far is the auto empty is super loud and can get annoying at times.

Overall definitely happy with my purchase.

We honestly had low expectations going into the smart vacuum realm. We felt buying something with alleged power and decent reviews at a good price was the way to go. Thus, we landed with the Roborock.

We aren’t disappointed in the Roborock Q7. As a matter of fact, this device far exceeds our expectations. The build quality is solid, and it has a nice look as well.

The performance really shines. The initial mapping was cool since we never saw this type of thing before. The Roborock went everywhere, including underneath beds. The mapping took over 90 minutes.

The map is concise and really paints a detailed layout. The individual rooms are clearly delineated with different colors.

The app is thin without fluff. It gives me what I need without me getting too far into the weeds. I was quickly setting zones and separate vacuum and mopping sessions. The app is WYSIWYG. You get pretty much all you need to see.

Brass tacks: The vacuuming is better than expected. We have all tile with some throw rugs. This picks up very well on both surfaces. Please note: you have to use a conventional vacuum to get behind doors and hard to reach places the Roborock couldn’t access. This was to be expected.

Next, the mop function did far better than expected. Our expectations were very low, but the device ran well and we had minimal areas to spot clean the tougher stains.

Like any other robot vacuum this unit did hang up a couple of times and I had to rescue it. The vac started back to the job without issue. The app notifies you when it’s hung. I had to remediate a couple of areas. We have a large 3 door sliding glass door and one of the tracks for the doors is wide and deep. The vacuum is so thorough it tried to clean that area and got hung up. A piece of PVC in the track cured the problem.

Overall I can’t recommend this product enough.

I have a 2k sqft home with carpet in the bedrooms. This robot can do it all in one charge and a full water tank. The obstacle avoidance isn’t great when it comes to clothes on the floor or shoes and such. So as long as you keep those loose items off the ground you will have zero problems. The app is very well designed and so easy to use. The lidar mapping is very accurate and fast too. This was a much needed investment that keeps the house clean. It automatically does all the work for you when it comes to emptying itself and detecting carpet which therefore boosts power and suction. (The carpet detection is very accurate) overall very good for the price and I purchased it used for $429 as of end of march 2024

Mapping is amazing (much better than my first model of a different brand. ) Device maps your entire home and you can develop "no go zones" on your phone without putting physical barriers down on the floor. You can also clean by zones or just the entire house.
Software is user friendly and intuitive. Did not spend a lot of time reviewing detailed instructions- just hooked it up and connected, then cleaned while watching progress on my phone.
Have not used the mopping feature yet, but the vacuum is excellent. Cleans well and smartly.
Only caveat: it is loud (like a wet vac machine) when it dumps the run back into the base, but this lasts a few seconds. Operating sound while cleaning is manageable for what it's doing.
Great buy 2 months in.
Highly recommend

When I first decided to buy a robot vacuum I was thinking about going with Roomba since it’s always on sale. Instead of purchasing that, I decided to research all brands of robot vacuums before purchasing. After I researched, I decided that this particular model would serve my flooring needs better. If you are in the market for a robot vaccum, I would definitely recommend this model if you only have hardwood floors in your house with no more than 2 rugs (Don’t buy this if your house is primarily carpet because there are other Roborock models or brands that are best for carpet). Always research models that would be best for your home and lifestyle before making an expensive purchase like this.

Also I saw complaints about how this doesn’t work for rugs and if you look on the bottom of the robot it says you need to remove the mop pad if you are going over a rug. I don’t remove it when going over rugs because I have a rug under my dining room table and the vacuum goes over it just fine. There’s also a shag rug in my daughters’ room and I was shocked that the robot was able to go over it. I thought the cliff sensor would have gone off but it surprised me. Also there’s another option in the settings where you can specify a “no go” zone so as not to go over your rug.

The YouTube review that I watched before buying this particular robot was very accurate in saying it was designed for hardwood floors because the water tank is really big compared to the more expensive $1600 and $1300 models that clean themselves. The dust compartment is small but that’s ok because I don’t have pets and my girls don’t really eat that much but will leave a mess here and there.

My only wish (I don’t know if Roborock has done this yet) is that they can provide a dock for this specific model that has a water refill tank, self clean and dust collector). I haven’t seen one on the market yet but if I can keep my current robot vacuum and upgrade to a dock that will have all of that and work with it, I will buy it.

As for cleaning my floors, this robot does a really good job. Prior to me buying this vacuum, I was too busy working to survive to even keep my house clean. This does a really good job at doing that for a family of 4 with no pets. It also does a good job of keeping our kitchen tidy because I was getting tired of my baby eating leftover cheerios that I couldn’t catch in time off the floor. As for children, I like that there’s a “child lock” option so that my toddler and baby don’t mess with the robot. My kids are always messing with it.

It’s been a year since I’ve had this robot and I didn’t want to write a review so early because I was expecting to be disappointed. I am not disappointed and it’s one of the best first robot purchases I have ever made.

I have to say, I overall I love my little household droid and wish we'd gotten one sooner. He's pretty smart, hasn't yet gotten himself stuck or fallen over a cliff, doesn't terrorise the dog toooo much, and has only eaten one sock - and even that it thoughtfully brought to me to extract. What I love most though is that while he cleans up dustbunnies and drifts of dog hair and then does a quick "mop" to keep dust levels down, I can study or catch up on knitting.

Do I have to spend a good half-hour at each end picking up all the big stuff and piling it on beds and arranging the kitchen chairs etc beforehand so he has a clear path around the house and under furniture so it can do everything in one shot and then putting everything back again afterwards? Yep - but if I was vacuuming it myself I'd have to move everything anyway - so that's a wash timewise. Does he miss some corners and behind the open doors? Yep - but for the sake of the time I don't have to spend dealing with the rest I'm ok with that. Does he have SERIOUS issues with the runner rugs we have down for our elderly pup who can't deal with hardwood/tile floors? Yes - I have to pull those up. This is a big negative in my book - and periodically I get out the normal vacuum to give all those a once-over and/or throw those that can go in the washer a wash if the weather is right for drying them. Still, the benefits of not having to vacuum the whole house (especially considering I'm asthmatic) far outweigh the PITA of it not dealing well with small throw rugs. Does he clean perfectly? No. Does having him around mean I never need to mop myself? Of course not - the "mopping" feature is more just keeping dust levels down than any sort of real cleaning. I never assumed a pad on the bottom of a machine would do any sort of real cleaning the way a mop and bucket would. It's a decent stop-gap though.

My biggest issue: the fact that he refuses to stay connected to the wifi when on the base. I have one smaller room that is stepped down from the rest of the house and I want it vacuumed and mopped daily, so I set up a schedule - but because the base consistently drops off wifi the schedule also gets dropped. I have moved the base to different locations in the room to see if it gets a better signal somewhere, I have moved my router as close as I can - it still drops. I have a wifi speaker in the same room *it* stays connected, so I'm really not sure why this is such an issue, but it's really frustrating. (And looking on forums etc, it would seem I am not the only one with this issue). It would be nice if once a schedule was set it was saved in the vacuum unit so that even if wifi connection dropped, the scheduled cleanings still happened. Thankfully I am able to start the cleanings manually - it's just a pain to know that it should be happening automatically and isn't.

Still, despite that I am happy with have the little guy. Now, does anyone know if he can be upgraded to dust shelves as well as vacuum the floors? :D

I have included a map I have programmed for my Roborock Q7Max. Initially I was confused with the option of two different software programs from google app store. After reading the app store reviews on one, I decided to stick with the Roborock app version 4.0.58 identified by the red box with Z in the inner circle. This app is specifically designed exclusively for operating the robovacs. The other is more of a multi-product whole house management system for the companies various product lines. If your just using the vac, stay with the vac program and avoid the other.
Suggestions: During initial mapping ( I used quick map) it's best to insure cables and power cords are out of reach. You may wish to include animal water & food bowls. I removed light clutter from the floors as well. No need to remove chairs, even if routinely moved. After the mapping I created no go zones for animal food area & PS5 & Xbox 1x consoles (on the floor) to avoid future bumping. I established no mop zones for carpeted areas. The first run it picked up a lots of dust, debris and animal hair. I ran the empty feature & it was "extremely" loud although the vacuum itself is relatively quiet as it operates. I love the Do Not Disturb feature that syncs with your phones default, which prevents the noisy vac emptying noise while sleeping if you program vac to run early. The software was not intuitive to me and took navigating around and hitting options to find what I was looking for but trust me, it's all there.

After fully charging the vac, you should build a map as step 1 with all doors open to rooms that will be cleaned. Some small/light rugs can cause a problem with being pushed etc. Ie toilet rug or light thin kitchen decorative mat. You may wish to keep a close eye on those areas during mapping JIC. The map was fun watching the real time traveling vacuum. I have not used the remote joystick control but imagine some might have fun trying to adapt it to carry "canned drinks" on top as a cool party trick. I was able to split large conjoined rooms into 2 and rename all rooms making it easier to program cleaning areas and schedule rooms on different schedules. I programmed to sweep and mop the room where the cat box is daily at 6:30 am so loose litter was picked up before human traffic. With wooden floors, it's essential to keep rough debris off to avoid scratching laminate. The mop worked great! Wet cat box paw tracks are a thing of the past. I have programmed it to sweep/mop the rest of the house 3 days/week. I have only been using one day. I asked tech support some questions I could not find in FAQ after reading some reviews to ease my mind before a first run. I amstill not certain if vac will auto empty when it senses full after DND hours ir if it would wait, then empty, then continue where it left off but forgot to ask. Tech support responded within a day. It was a significant investment and replaced my old Rumba that died. It did my entire downstairs using less than 20 % battery first time w/o mop, so have no concerns about battery degradation quickly rendering it unable to do the job. I will update after next full sweep & mop for battery usuage. It is very important that before you attach mop pad and add cleaning fluid, that you map and create zones to avoid problems or potential property damage. I'm holding off on 5 stars until I have more time to evaluate. Some of the website FAQs are confusing as they use the word pure associated with mopping. I still don't know if that is associated with specific models or poor english. I have ordered the Amazon recommended accessory kit with extra bags and filters and parts. I calculated, depending on which vendor/product that the bags are about $2 each. Do not try to shortcut or pinch pennies on bags and suck dirt into your motor. You paid several hundred dollars for the vac, a few bucks won't kill you. If you want a bagless version, not sure they have one but your welcome to look or suggest. I think bags do a good job on keeping dust to a minimum.
So far so good!
