    Was working fine until first time replacing disposal bag. Talked with Amazon and iRobot support. No one had a resolution. Amazon was to call me the following day at specified time but no phone call as promised. My suggestion, invest your money into a better system. There are no returns.

    I have been a Dyson person for the last 10 years and I really wanted the new Dyson Vis Nav but it’s currently unavailable and the price is astronomical. That got me looking at Roomba. All the positive reviews can’t be wrong and I got mine for $300 below MSRP right here on Amazon. I like how well it mapped my home! It’s really accurate. I have not had it long enough to comment on all of the features such as Dirt Detective but there are a few things I can comment on. I feel it could use stronger suction. I’m using it on hardwood floors and I want it to get stray cat litter. It picks up most cat litter but a lot of granules get left behind in the roller chamber. Also when the Roomba docks and attempts to empty itself it never fully gets all the litter out of the dust bin in the Roomba. It seems to get all the cat hair and regular dirt/dust with no issue though. Battery life is also very good. It is able to vacuum my entire house on one charge. Run time seems a bit long (2 hrs) but that may improve as it learns more about my house. I don’t really care too much about run time as I have it set to do it’s thing while I’m at work and it’s done by the time I get home. I plan to keep my eyes on Dyson though. As they improve their robot and add features I’ll probably jump ship. Theirs has the power of an upright vacuum and it has a permanent washable filter. Also no bags to deal with. For now this is a good machine to get my feet wet in the robotic realm.

    This device does a good job cleaning but it’s not perfect. This Roomba is not as good as my upright (which I expected) but it’s great in between regular vacuuming. The app is also user friendly. It does tend to curl hair up into a ball then leave it on the carpet along with other small random things from time to time. For that reason I question how this would handle pet hair.

    The biggest disappointment I’ve had with this unit is how it handles battery life. The first time I used it I set it to clean as many rooms as possible. When it ran out of battery it went to charge and said it would continue the job afterwards. That was just fine but the Roomba does a poor job in estimating how much charge it will need to complete the job. The first time it charged for 45 minutes, then 30 minutes, 15 minutes, and finally only charged for 7 minutes allowing it to vacuum for another five. It continued to only charge for 7 minutes and vacuum for about five minutes 10+ times before i cancelled the job out of annoyance. Something else I found irritating was when it did continue the job it would often re-vacuum some of the same spots it already did. Also once the Roomba continues the job after charging it is not ideal that the app can no longer tell you which room it’s on. It just says what it’s doing. To prevent this from happening I now just split the house in half so it starts both jobs with a full charge but I feel I shouldn’t have to.

    Am I happy with this Roomba? Yes, I am. Do I think it’s the best robotic vacuum out there? I’m not sure.

    Purchased back in November. Worked good for several months. We always maintained it and kept it clean. Then it threw error code 26. Nothing you can do will resolve it once you get this code. Motherboard is fried. Looked it up and apparently it’s an issue with this model. Waste of money.

    this is my third attempt in the last 15 years at buying a roomba. First two were jokes, would get stuck everywhere and beep till the battery drained. I thought the 10 years that past since the last bad experience they might have figured it out. Worked great for 3 months, then went into possessed robot mode. It would go in circles for no reason, or just turn off every few minutes. The UI on the phone gives no indication of why it stopped the job. Two hours of rebooting, re setting up wifi, plugging out base, and a few good wacks to the garbage... out of no where it decides it knows what a straight line is again. Vacumming is a pain to do, but owning this thing will make you so frustrated, its just not worthe it. Did I say how bad the app is at giving any indication of what the thing is doing? Garbage, literral garbage not worth anything more than a short lived prototype run.

    Worse performance in every regard compared to our old 900 series. Don’t waste your money. Gets stuck all the time, forgets its map, takes forever to finish a job, leaves behind a lot of debris, overall not a good product. I would be a lot more upset if I hadn’t used a gift card to pay for most of it.

    Had this 9 weeks and the cleaning head module had to be replaced. It was used less than 6 times in total in a ~1400 sq foot home! Could not return the unit. iRobot support was horrible, but they eventually sent the replacement part. Suction was worse after replacing. The mapping is terrible! It runs into stuff and has issues all of the time, such as not being able to figure out where it is and thinking vents are "cliffs". I cannot run unattended. I must be around to fix it at least twice every vacuum. We don't have a complex home with stuff laying around. This device and the support are horrible! I wish I could get my money back!!!!!

    My original review follows this 4 month update. After 4 months and some software updates this machine now works as well, or better than the unit it replaced. I found the ridiculously small filter has to be watched closely and kept clean. I rotate three. I vacuum the filter that is replaced, blow it out with an air compressor, and put it back into the rotation. The battery life is incredibly long and its ability to empty its bin by itself is nice. It sounds like it varies the intensity of the suction according to floor surface. Seems to get extra strong as it cleans area rugs. I updated my original 2 stars to 4 stars now.

    The suction sucks. Well actually it doesn't suck worth a hoot, even on high. It wanders all over with no rhyme nor reason. I think that camera system is the pits. Both my kids have the i7+ and lovem. Probably the much better buy at this juncture. There is no handle to pick it up when it gets lost either. Has a great battery life though. But it has to because I have to run it two or three times over the same room to clean everywhere.

    Update... just spent 15 minutes trying to stop this abomination from sitting in one spot pirouetting like a ballerina on crack. Pretty significant buyer's remorse blended lightly with anger. I'm particularly sorry that I gave my 900 series to my brother when I got this state of the art ... well use your imagination. Dropped another star off after further review.
