Fast Charge Your EV: 48 Amp Level 2 Charger

As with all products sold online, once in a while, you're going to get one that doesn't quite perform up to it's expectations. That was our first thought, at least, when we began using this charger. Because we weren't able to set the desired number of amps as high as we wanted, it simply wouldn't charge above a certain level. But other reviews mentioned that the charger worked just fine, so I considered that maybe we just got unlucky. Which can happen with any type of product, made by any brand.

So I decided to test my theory, and contacted the seller directly.

For starters, the seller was immediately responsive. They were helpful. They wanted to ensure that we were happy with our experience with their charger. And that, as I had figured, it was a problem specific to just that one unit. And in a short period of time, the replacement charger arrived in mail.

The new charger works great.

I think the really important thing here isn't just that their chargers do work well - even if a random one might have some sort of technical issue. The important thing is how the seller handles any problems that might arise like this. Because I've had other sellers flat-out ignore me if I received a faulty product. Nope, this seller was on top of their game. So aside from it being a good charger, you can trust that you're buying from a reputable, reliable seller.

The 48 Amp charger has been a great addition to my setup for charging my Tesla. It's been super consistent and performs really well, providing reliable and efficient charging every time. I especially appreciate the extra-long cord, which makes it easy to position my car without having to worry about cord length limitations.

I haven’t used the app feature since I manage everything through my Tesla app, so I can’t speak to that aspect, but as far as the core functionality of the charger goes, it’s excellent. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do without any issues.

Overall, if you’re looking for a reliable and efficient charger with a long cord, this one is a fantastic option!

I have only been using this for 2 weeks, but I absolutely love this thing. Set up was quick and easy. It charges my car really fast in comparison to the level 1 charger that came with the car.
If in the near future, it has failures, I will definitely post another review, but as it stands now, not a problem with this device

I actually use a 100 amp breaker on my 14-50 outlets. I like overkill. It's 4awg all the way. Nothing gets hot and I've had zero problems with any of that.

I usually don't like apps very much, but this one was extremely easy to set up. Seriously, it takes seconds. Everything is intuitive. If you want a nice app, then this will work wonders.

For the most part, this charges at 32 amps, since it is usually charging my RAV4 Prime. It does also charge my wife's EV6 GT after it runs out of charge after it backs out of the driveway (I would very much like to push that car into the pond). That can accept the full 48 amps and also has much larger batteries, even if they deplete in 100 miles if you drive like my wife drives. This has had zero problems with that as well.

You can easily set up a charging schedule if need be in the app. That's great if your electric company charges peak rates, but irrelevant to me, since it's always the same price. Seriously, it's extremely easy. I set it to charge the EV6 for an hour just to test, and it took me 10 seconds to set, and it did exactly what I told it to do.

Build quality is good, and I've never had it throw a single fault. In other words, it's a good charger.

I was impressed out of the box with how well-built and designed this charger is. Moving up from the Level 2 charger with my car required a new outlet placed on a 50AMP circuit, but it was worth it. Much faster (around 5x) charging times. Also, the 20 foot cord made it easy to centrally place the charger to charge a car on either side of my garage.

Mounting the charger was simple with just a drill and screwdriver, and it comes with a nice hanger you can put the plug into when it is not in use and wrap the cord around to keep it out of the way. Big plus over my old charger, which ended up with the cable on the floor and causing a tripping hazard.

The electronics and software for this charger make it exceptional. The charger's built-in wifi lets you connect to your home network and check the charging status at any time directly from your app. Configuring it with the Smart Life app (which I already had on my phone) took under 5 minutes. I love that it tracks the amount of power used in each charge and I can access that directly on my phone. The only negative I will mention here is that the Wifi only supports 2.4 ghz, rather than 2.4 and 5, which has become the standard. And, yes, 2.4 has more range, but if you are using some brands of hotspots it is difficult to connect 2.4 without additional steps.

The charger has an attractive and useful display screen on the front which tells you what is happening at a glance, as well as a big light you can see across the garage in the dark to tell you the car is plugged in an charging.

I've used this so far with BMW, Toyota, Kia, and Ford vehicles - and recently added an adapter from Amazon for under $20 that let me use it to charge visitor's Teslas. In every case, it has performed like a champ - with quick charging at whatever level the car was equipped to use.

After a month of use, I was pleased to see almost no signs of wear and tear. The charger material is free of scratches, as is the cord hanger beside it. I've not had to unplug and reboot the charger even once (a common occurrence with the previous charger). This thing is a workhorse. Even after a full charge, I've never felt it become warm to the touch.

Overall, I am extremely pleased with this charger. It meets all my needs and has no issues to speak of. If you are looking for a single charge that will handle whatever you throw at it, this is a great choice. Highly recommended!

I've gone through a few see which one I like 4:50 amp charger very good. For those of you on the 30 amp outlet just let you control it amp by amp so instead of being stuck at 24 amps you can turn it up to 29 amps if you really have to get a faster charge. Just had a 60 amp breaker installed in the house and wiring to the garage for the 50 amp. Works great high quality the cables are extremely thick giving you that comfort of quality feeling. This is a quality charger but the fact that you can literally control it by amp by AMP 25 amps 26 amps 27 amps 28 amps 29 amps whatever you want gives you the capability of faster charging on a 30 amp from a 240 volt Outlet by the dryer. Those of you struggling to get a 100% charged because you're using it up daily this might help you if you don't have the extra setup. High quality Wi-Fi works very easy I set it up in under and I'm not joking under 5 Seconds. Again great products great charger I'm a picky person I usually don't ever put reviews because quality is just not good enough for me anyways this one will definitely get the job done for a long time but I will be switching to an 80 amp Grizzle soon that's what I really need. If you get this charger you will be happy it won't let you down. This is coming from a person who thinks everything is garbage pretty much. One thing though the app definitely could be better.

Now read this everyone I don't care how much you've read online about using 48 amps on a 60 amp circuit breaker with 6 gauge wiring sure you can run 48 amps but not advisable more than 3 hours run it for an hour see how hot you're charging cable is go outside touch your breaker you will see it's hot heat causes damage to everything that's electrical and will eventually probably push your breaker.

After a professional electric company did my 60 amp setup with 6 gauge and a 60 amp breaker had to come back the second day and realized we should have used for gauge wiring on a 70 amp breaker to take full advantage of 48 amp charging as much as you want.

So the smart thing to do with any home is only used the amps that you need this lets you control it from 1 amp to 48 amps one by one so depending when I get home and how much I need I'll sit in the car change the amps with the app very simple and you can see in the car what time your car will be done by changing each amp like tonight got home at 18% needed a full charge put it at 35 amps will be ready at 7:00 a.m. but I could have had it ready much earlier don't push heating up the wiring if you don't have to. I wish I would have spent the extra $200 gone to 4 gauge with the 70 amp breaker that way the wiring temperature would be much lower same with the electrical charging cables from the charger which you will notice much cooler when you lower it down.

The Telgeoot charger is a Level 2 EV charger with a NEMA 14-50 outlet and SAE J1772. It charges faster than the old charger that came with our Tesla, and it works with various electric and hybrid plug-in vehicles, including my friend's Toyota RAV4. Tesla owners will need to get an adapter to use this charger, but they go for $50 from Tesla's site and even cheaper for non-branded adapters.

The 48 amp capacity is what made us invest in a better charger, and it noticeably charges 5 times faster than an old Level 1 charger that we tried. The amperage is also adjustable from 1 to 48 amps. Overall, the device is easy to use, connects to WiFi, comes with a mobile smart app, and has a sleek design.

Got the full 48A charge on my home panel rated for a 60A EV charger. It would work the same on one rated for 48A (you'll probably want 60A capacity for that). The scheduling and all that worked seamlessly. Just an efficient charger that works as intended.
