I know espresso machines require a bit of "tampering" to make sure you have the right flavor profile based on your beans, but this is extremely finicky!
The instruction book said the grinder was best 10-5 (0 being super fine) grind, but when I set it to 0 to experiment the coffee was too fine for it and clogged the grinder. That took an hour of troubleshooting and cleaning. The grind button is also set to double by default (at the 10-5 grind setting) and needs to be calibrated by hand to the single measurement based on the preferred grind. After hours of experimenting (and a bag of beans later) I found the perfect flavor and pressure for a single shot latte (see video with happy baby background sounds). Finding the right angle on the heat wand to fluff the milk was also tricky, by the time I found it my milk was already up to temperature (which was definitely hot!). My first latte was watery, second was too bitter, but the third (in video, oatmilk single latte) was perfect. I have found my single shot settings are not correct for a double, but for now I am pleased. This machine requires patience and some with those who know what they are doing, but for those who care, it's worth it!

Purchased for my daughter. I have a Breville but didn’t want to spend that much so ended up trying this one out. Seems comparable and hundreds cheaper. The tamper is really nice and heavy and sits up top in designated spot vs. under like on my Breville, which my daughter says she likes better. I am always skeptical to try brands I don’t know, but it looks nice and if it holds up it will be a great option to save some $$.

This machine makes a quality cup of coffee/espresso, but designed for simplicity. There are automatic functions for brew and grind duration, however you can adjust these presets to fine tune your perfect cup of coffee. The bean grinder does a nice job at getting the correct grind for the roast and intensity and it has lots of grind selection settings. The extraction process works well and the machine can pressurize up to 15 bar in order to get the most out of the coffee. There are two brew functions for either single extraction or double extraction as well as the appropriate filter screen for both. On the side of the machine is a selector switch for either steam or hot water which are both dispensed from the frothing wand. The steaming function works well but takes about 45 seconds to build up temperature to produce good steam. Once it starts steaming it will continue for enough time to get your milk hot and frothy. On the back of the machine there is a large removable water container which will hold enough water for many extractions and steamings. This machine is not small, however it will fit beneath most upper kitchen cabinets so it can fit in your kitchen if you have the counter space.

Although it's not a professional machine, it sounds like one. If you have a normal sized house, you will wake everyone up in the morning if you try to make a cappuccino. The grinding and extraction process isn't obnoxiously loud, but steaming the milk sounds like souls escaping middle earth. Nevertheless, It does hush down when the milk gets up to temperature and begins to froth. This machine will make a cup of espresso, cappuccino, or coffee as good as any coffeehouse, you simply have to find the correct grind size, bean roast, and extraction duration for your perfect cup of coffee.

The process of making coffee with this machine is almost an art, and with that commitment, you have to be sure to clean it after every extraction. Cleaning is as simple as wiping, dumping, and rinsing, but it's an essential step when brewing with this machine; don't skip cleaning. There are a hidden set of cleaning tools in the bottom tray, but these are only needed for periodic maintenance and deep cleaning.

This is my first espresso machine, although I've used one of the small one cup makers before, but I can't imagine more expensive machine with fancier functions can make a better espresso than this. I am in love with this machine and have come to enjoy the quality of coffee over quantity. It truly makes a spectacular cup of coffee.

I have now owned this machine for a few months and it is making 4 to 5 drinks a day with my family. I did recalibrate my grinder to 15 grams for a double shot which was very easy. The manual is its biggest down fall m, after a while my descaling light was flashing and wanting me to run a descaling cycle. Referring to the manual on how descale this unit I found an error. The manual shows push and hold the power and single shot till it enter descaling mode. WRONG!!! It is POWER AND DOUBLE SHOT BUTTON HOLD untill they flash. For the money this unit is far better then expected and comparable to the much more expensive machines and nit lacking any features. I was able to order a 58mm 3 tab bottomless portafilter with ground screen to use a regular coffee cup. I do have the small expresso cups but not everyone does so just know you will not fit a regular cup under the double shot head. I do love this as it is easy to use easy to clean looks great and so far has held up under all my coffee drinkers , great price for a 15 bar expresso machine with the features of higher priced machines, I did take the 3 year warranty extension just as a precaution. Conclusion:: if you are looking for a good expresso machine that does it all this is for you!!!! Buy one and see for yourself best part no more high priced Starbucks.

I love making specialty coffee drinks at home for family and friends. So I was excited to try out this “professional “ espresso machine. It is a nice-looking machine - but has a big footprint. It has a large water capacity, and heats up quickly. Makes a good crema when you use good quality beans.
But I did find a few areas that need some help. The steam wand doesn’t put out enough steam (so not good froth). Anything over 20 bars automatically shuts down the machine, so dosages are difficult to manage at first. The auto grind and fill tends to be messy. I have to continually tap the feeder during grinding to keep the beans flowing.
Overall, it takes quite a bit of time to figure out how to get a good result out of this machine - it shouldn’t be that difficult. Comparable price point as bigger brand name machines.

The Machine was packaged well and arrived on time. The quality of the machine seems very good for the cost. After initial set up and cleaning of the machine, I have used it to make quite a bit of Expresso and I am pleased with the results. I am able to achieve good pressure with fine grounds and a good tamping. Lacks a little Crema versus the Delonghi super automatic machine I have used in the past with the same beans but hopefully I can figure that out. So far, I would highly recommend this machine if you were looking for a quality machine at an affordable cost with a built-in grinder.

It certainly competes and exceeds the breville Barista Express. It's not even half as loud as the breville, it has almost every feature as the breville. The tamper is too small, needs a 58.5 mm tamper. Also needs baxkflush basket and everything else needed to maintain the machine. The grinder works but barely grinds fine enough for espresso. The pre infusion does not gently soak the grinds, instead it drops so much water that coffee flows fast for the first few seconds and then slows down. For $300 im very happy with the machine and can certainly deal with its shortcomings

I usually just drink instant coffee but when I received this I realized I havIe been missing out on a lot. It is quite large and doesn't fit under my cabinets with the grinder attached, so my best bet is to get a cart for it. I love that it is equipped with everything you will ever need to make an espresso. No need to get a grinder or milk frother since everything is already integrated in to this machine. We have made countless drinks in various styles and flavors. It is however quite loud, the milk frother in particular. I also can not figure out how to clean the frother but I will be looking up videos on how to do so easily and effectively.

The most comparable espresso machine is the Breville Barista Express. This Joy Pebble brand espresso maker has cut some corners with construction materials in order to reduce cost to offer a lower retail price than the Breville Barista Express. One concern we have is that the side and bottom panel near the milk frother wand is plastic (that looks like metal in the Joy Pebble). The Breville has all metal stainless steel (not plastic).

The user manual advises how many seconds it should take to grind the beans. When you press the button to grind the beans, you have to count the seconds yourself and manually shut off the grinder. The grinder is not automatic, such as you cannot command it with one press to “grind enough for a single shot”.

This is a low price if you look at the options that it offers compared to other brands. We have been experimenting and are learning how to use this one with greatest success. So far we are having to use a little bit more course of a grind to not have a puddle left and in order to get the best tasting cup of espresso. The tamper is a solid piece of metal with some heft to it.

I am rating this four stars like it because it does have a lot of features for the low price compared to the Breville which is double!

I go through phases where I don’t drink coffee at all, then get a fascination for it and have to buy a new machine. I’ve always been fascinated by espresso, particularly when adulterated with milk or cream, but found myself intimidated by the complexity and expense.

This little unit is amazing! It fits in about the same space as the standard coffee makers I grew up with. A bit over a foot wide and about the same depth, it easily fits on the kitchen counter. I don’t know what changed over time, but the process to produce a cup seems simpler than what I recall.

There is some initial set up with the water supply - probably good to run some water through there and the frother to make sure it’s clean.

The top left has a grinder, the grounds flow directly into the little portafilter sitting underneath, tamp it, lock it into the brewing spot and press a button to actually produce ‘the shot’. The frother was another mystery that wasn’t that hard to use after I saw it in action.

The little manual has lots of information, but honestly I got more out of watching a couple YouTube videos and seeing someone actually use the Joy Pebble machine.

I’m comfortable now with this little machine. I’m ready to experiment with caffeine-free, flavored and plant milks. I can’t say that I know what I’m doing, but I am comfortable going forward and learning more about possibilities. This seems to be an excellent starter machine with lots of available learning tools. If you’ve been thinking about espresso machines, this one is very nice.

WOW! This is a really super espresso maker and milk frother/coffee mill. It was easy to set up and I found my first two cups of espresso needed a finer ground on the coffee beans. If you already have owned an espresso maker, this one will be an easy adjustment. The machine is pretty loud. You probably can’t put your babies to bed and then make espresso. Everyone would wake up in short order. That said, I particularly like that it came with correctly sized tamping tools. This makes a screaming great cup of Joe. The frother is a little bit hard to clean. I use boiling hot water instead of milk in the frother cup. Then it’s clean as a whistle. The arrangement of buttons is logical. Great price compared with better known brands, works beautifully and is easy to maintain!
