Dyson V12 Detect Slim Origin Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, Yellow/Iron, Large

My cheap stick vac broke. Well, actually I dropped it and shattered the dirt cup but lets not quibble. So I did a search for the best stick vacs out there. I didnt want another cheap one. I already had a Dyson Animal vac which still works great but is a beast to move around the house. So I thought I would try the Dyson stick. Im very impressed. This vacuum picks up everything. Well, almost everything. If the cat toys were a little smaller Im sure they would get sucked up also. This thing picks up kitty litter, cat fur, my hair and tons of dust. The floor attachment with the green LED is eye opening. I could walk through the house and think the floors were reasonably clean but that light says otherwise. The rug attachment works great on my one area rug. The other attachments are just as good. I do wish the dirt cup was a little larger and the battery lasted a bit longer but otherwise this is a great vac.

Top notch stick vacuum for those quick pick up messes! Perfect for pets and children! Easy to use and clean! Great suction. Quick charge! Last longer than I thought I would could do our whole house of 2500sqft

I really did not want to love this vacuum but I do. It cost a pretty penny but I waited for prime day to purchase mine. If you are thinking of getting a dyson wait for a sale they are usually significantly marked down during prime day/black friday. I have had this vacuum for about 3 months so far and I couldn't be happier.

The pros:
1. It was so easy to use. The different tools included are easy to attach and detach.
2. It came with every accessory you could need to vacuum up different surfaces.
3. Suction power is amazing.
4. The dyson v12 is so easy to clean. To deep clean it there are multiple YT videos available.
5. This vacuum is light! So easy to move between rooms. Easy to take downstairs to vacuum my car. LOVE IT.
6. This is so lame to say but I actually enjoy vacuuming now. My kids love it too. They just love the fluffy attachment and I do too haha My 5 and 7 year old always ask to help me vacuum because they love seeing the green light. Win win for this single mom!
7. When you are vacuuming, the dyson will automatically provide more suction power and you can literally hear the motor rev when this happens. I am a nerd and thought that was pretty cool.

I really don't have any cons to say about this. I do have some insight to consider before purchasing this though. Do keep in mind that the V12 is the slim dyson so if you have a large home you may want to consider a different dyson with a larger dust/dirt chamber and has a longer run time. Also you do get a mount attachment but I did not use mine. I did not want to drill a hole in my rental home. I just ended up using a basket to store all the attachments which has been totally fine.

Overall, I LOVE this dyson v12. It has made vacuuming my home so much more enjoyable. My only hope is this thing will last longer then my other vacuum. You bet i'll update this review if this does not last long. Otherwise best investment I've made in a long time.

I moved from a large house with hardwood floors & area rugs to a one level apartment (with mostly wall to wall carpeting :( For the past 40 years I used an Electrolux tank which did a great job but was heavy and cumbersome. This Dyson stick vac has been great in the new place! I never thought I would part with my Electrolux but this Dyson stick vac is all that I need and it's been working great (especially considering I hate wall to wall carpeting). As others have noted the little green light for the bare floor in my kitchen and bath is AMAZING! You see every little thing (and the Dyson picks it up!). Now, if someone calls and says they're on their way over I can quick grab the stick vac and run it around a bit to freshen things up.
The Dyson would have been great on the stairs in my old house but I would caution that the disposal canister doesn't hold alot and there is no vacuum bag so you have to shake it out. I've had no problem with the battery life in this 2 bedroom apartment but I'm sure it would not have lasted in my old house. Basically I am a real fan of this Dyson stick vac...it's suctioning up a ton of dog hair, it's light weight and it snakes under impossibly small spaces.

Edit: 6 months later. Still love it. Battery doesn’t as long as I’d like…enough for about 3 large rooms and stairs. The trade off for the light weight is battery life and small waste cannister.

This is powerful, battery lasts a long time and does not clog if you empty it when you’re supposed to. The canister is a bit small for the waste, but I wouldn’t trade it! Lightweight, easy to maneuver and pick up and carry, it stays on (some require you keep your finger on a button), and it does an amazing job on hard floors (the light is so helpful!) and carpets. Big win! We have a lot of dirt on the property at the moment with two dogs who shed a lot and this handles it beautifully. Worth the money if it lasts lol.
