Seguma Level 2 EV Home Charger for Tesla: Fast, Smart, and Reliable 32A

Charged fine for a few days. Then I heard a sizzling sound and the plug was visibly sparking within the outlet. Owned a non-Tesla plug in hybrid that used a different charger in the same outlet for years with zero issues. But this charger singed the outlet and had I not noticed in time could have caught my house on fire. DO NOT BUY!!! I will be seeking a return and they will need to cover repair costs to my outlet.

Got the unit and it felt really high quality and impressed with the thickness of the cord and the fact it came with a wall mount. Pressed the button and the door opened to charge port. Then after a few days it stopped. I tried on another tesla and that wouldn't respond too. Borrowed another charger and had no issues. Bummed because for the price and the quality I was wishful it would be a one and done. Now I have to order another charger. Amazon wanted me to return this first and them a replacement would be shipped. Not.going to work when I meed this daily. Disappointed.

I’ve been using it for two days and the cord is not only longer to spread heat, but also just thicker. I charge in a climate controlled garage and the mobile charger would still overheat in a 75 degree room. No problems with this one so far.

All components are well made, display is awesome, car plug is sturdy. Long cord is also great.
Ambient heat sensor cuts off way before a Tesla branded charger.
This unit will not support higher temp outdoor charging without going into heat overload. I live in AZ and had to relocate my exterior plug into an indoor area for my Tesla that is charged outdoors. I kept the charger out of direct sun in 100 degree shade and it shut off almost immediately.

This is the perfect level 2 portable charger because by adding a Tesla to J1772 charging adapter you can charge any EV. We use this on a Tesla and a Nissan Leaf with a Tesla to J1772 charging adapter. You can easily change the power supplied by pressing the Amp button under the display. We use 32 Amp on the Tesla and only 24 Amp on the Nissan Leaf because its batteries don't like getting hot. The button on the charger's handle even opens the Tesla's charge port door like an OEM Tesla charger. It also comes with a wall adapter kit that includes a cable holder and a control box holder. This is great for getting your cable and control box off the ground while charging. As an extra bonus they also include a carry bag and it is large enough that you don't have to roll the cable with military precision to fit the charger in the bag. I can’t speak to the longevity of this charger but so far it seems to work perfectly and doesn't get very warm while charging. This charger seems like a great budget friendly option to charge your EV.

This works really well on my model 3. Some portable chargers just don't supply the advertised power. This one is just as good as the Tesla charger that came with the car. I also tested it on my F-150 lightning and Chevy Volt (adapter required) with acceptable performance. It is reasonably priced.

So far, the SEGUMA charger is working well. The mounting screws that came with it kept twisting and breaking in the wood. Button to auto open-door charger works well. The included holders are a really nice addition and we're easy to install. Bag was roomy and not super tight. Cord seems to be the correct length. Appears to be a economical replacement for the Tesla Mobile charger.
