    Just received new unit after last one stopped working after 6 years. We got our money’s worth…and more. This unit, including glass carafe, is identical to our older unit…same quality, same design, everything. One review said the glass carafe was very fragile, but in 6 years we never broke one. The new carafe is identical. Some reviews said hard to fill water in reservoir at top. Best to make sure carafe lid is on and just pour…so simple, no mess. I use a descaler every 3 months to clean the heating element. Oh, did I mention it makes a great cup of coffee?

    I first bought this exact same coffee maker 10-12 years ago for our home. It worked flawlessly, and that one lasted up until 2 months ago. I replaced it with the exact same model and I am off and going again.

    -1 pt review deduction update: The lid for the coffee pot does not fit properly and doesn’t seal along the edges. So when you pour the coffee, it leaks out the rim. Luckily, since it’s the same as my prior one, I kept the old pot and lid. The old lid fits the new pot perfectly, but I am disappointed that for the cost, the lid doesn’t fit and seal properly.

    Pros: LARGE coffee pot. Essential for hosting larger groups, which we do for holidays. Love it! I also prefer straight forward controls, with enough options to do what I want. No need for the distractions of too many features. This has a few essential features, well organized controls, and looks good on the counter. It’s my go to coffee maker for over a decade.

    Cons: As you can read, I really like this coffee maker. In and off itself, no glaring cons. Concern is over quality control. My original one at home I believe lasted about 12 years. In 2017 I bought the same coffee maker for our cottage. it worked great for 4 years, and then simply stopped worked in 2021. Again replaced it with the same model, and that one is going well up there going on its 3rd year.

    As noted above, my original coffee maker at home last over a decade, but started leaking out the base 2 months ago. I replaced it with again the same model (because the PRO’s above are huge for me). Upon arrival the lid doesn’t click onto the pot and seal properly. Thus, when you pour coffee, it leaks out beyond its spout and dribbles coffee down the pot and coffe cup side. I still had my old pot and lid, so switched to that. However, this is not a cheap coffee maker, and I would prefer better fit and quality control.

    So, this is my 4th purchase of this same coffee maker in over a decade for two homes. That shows how much I like it! If we can just nail down quality to hold up like our original did, I would be thrilled.

    If a manufacturer reads this, a replacement lid would be appreciated. Thanks!

I loved all of its useful features, especially the easy to see water fill window, option to turn off tones, adjustable craft temperature in addition to all the things we loved about our old Cuisinart.

    I did some research before settling on this Cuisinart model. I originally thought I wanted a dual coffee maker with a single serving side, but I didn’t like how much counter space was needed. This model has a 1–4 setting to adjust for single to smaller servings, but I don’t think it’s necessary tbh. I just adjust my grounds and water.

    I personally like the beeping notifications when coffee is finished brewing and when the machine is ready to shutoff. My dog doesn’t seem to mind it either:), but the option is there to silence it with the push of a button.

    My old Krups machine took forever to brew a 10 cup pot (4 cups of coffee). This maker takes 10 minutes. I also rued how slow I had to pour water from the carafe into the tank on the Krups. No such issue with the Cuisinart. The only reason I docked a star was due to the inability to easily empty the last bit of water from the Cuisinart carafe. The pot is too big to fully tilt within the allotted space as the top lid only opens 90 degrees. Not a crisis but somewhat annoying.

    The unit came with a metal filter if you are environmentally conscious or trying to save a few bucks on paper filters. I opt not to use it as I don’t want to bother with the mess of dumping wet grounds in my trash and then flush residual grounds down my kitchen sink in case they eventually build up and cause a clog.

    This model has a “Bold” feature. I don’t care for bold coffee, but I thought I’d be clever and use it with less coffee grounds to achieve the same medium strength. The coffee was the right strength, but it had a weird taste I can’t easily describe but to say it tasted “dirty.” So much for that idea.

    Aesthetically, I find the stainless steel look attractive, but it does leave finger smudges, however, they easily wipe off with a damp dish cloth. This model, like most if not all models with a top lid shower, does dribble water down the back of the machine upon lifting the lid after brewing. Again, not a big deal but just slightly annoying.

    Overall, I’m pleased with my purchase, but in retrospect, a less expense model would have sufficed for our basic coffee needs.

    Pictured is the heating base for our Cuisinart that we purchased 19 months ago, showing the bubbling corrosion. We had the same issue on our first Cuisinart that we had 10 years ago. So this is our third one, hoping maybe they have fixed this issue?
    That said, we reordered this one because it does make a good pot of coffee and I am familiar with using it.

    I really like the ease of programming the coffee maker. I thought it was going to be complicated but wasn’t. The features that I like are the carafe temperature option, clean button to let you know it’s time to decalcify, the 1-4 cup feature for small batches of brew, and the auto off programmable feature that allows you to keep coffee warm 0-4 hours. Let’s not forget that it comes charcoal pod, scoop and paper cone filters if you prefer paper along with the gold filter that is provided.
