    I bought this to use for when my bf came to visit. I live in an apartment in Florida and the HVAC system can’t keep up with the heat. I have used other portable AC units in the past, given to me by the apartment complex when the HVAC unit quit working. Compared to those, this unit is loud and does not do as good of a job cooling the space. For reference, I got this to cool my bedroom- which is maybe 12*12? Not sure. It did cool the bedroom don’t get me wrong- but the unit ran nonstop, and I could not tune out and sleep through the noise. The other units I have used have made the bedroom colder than this one was able to accomplish for the same amount or less noise and it would periodically shut off making it easier to sleep with while running. I will be returning this as I know there is better out there. The remote control works well but I found I had to aim it so range isn’t as good as I would have expected. Setting it up was extremely easy and it’s not that heavy. Also, for noise reference, I sleep with two fans on to compensate for the AC, and sleep sounds and this was much louder than all of that.

    Such an amazing AC unit. A heck of a lot easier to install vs a window unit. My living room was almost 80 degree's and very humid and it cooled down to 72 in about an hour. It is about as loud as a window unit but the easy install outweighs the noise for me.

    This is a fantastic indoor climate unit. It keeps cool, the heat works well, the flex vent is adequate, the sound isn't too terribly loud. I love that the flex vent window partition adjusts, I have a very small window in my office that it fit perfectly into.

    However, know what you are getting into. If you use the AC feature, you will need the water to drain somewhere. I fed the drainage tube into a 2 gallon bucket that I put behind the unit. I live in the southern United States where it gets really hot during the summer. in April, I was having to dump this bucket out 3 times a day. It's not even really hot in April yet. I'm not sure what I would have done in July. I ended up returning this and purchasing a very small window unit. If you aren't prepared to empty a bucket often, this unit is not for you. The best case scenario would be to install a drainage line to vent the excess water outside. But, I realize not everyone is in a situation to do this, and my wife did not want me doing this in the external building off of our house that contains my office. Otherwise, I would have kept this unit and been very happy with an external drainage line. Bottom line, this is a fantastic climate unit, but be realistic about how it is going to operate.

    Ive been using the 10,000 btu for about a year now. It’s loud, big, & heavy but it works well. Was easy to install. Might be nice if the remote had a light to see in the dark. I covered the display panel with duct tape so no light at night to keep me awake.
